Anambra grants motorbike waiver certificates to courier service companies
General News
THE Anambra State ministry of transport has granted Motorcycle Waiver Certificates to two companies for courier and delivery services in the state.
The companies are Sucsseto Logistics Company Ltd., and Nelly’s Blendz Ltd.
The event, which took place on March 2 at the office of the state commissioner for transport was a flag off of the issuance of waiver certificates to qualified courier services and logistics companies in the state.
The waiver, according to commissioner Afam Mbanefo, followed a meeting that prescribed requirements by the companies.
Mbanefo, who cautioned the companies against using the waivers to shortchange government and commit illegalities, added that the certificates had security codes to help in addressing possible cases of falsifications, even as he reminded them of the need for regular revalidation.
The commissioner also directed the appropriate traffic law enforcement agents in the state, Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency, ARTMA, Nigerian Police, Vehicle Inspection Officers, VIOs, and others, to go ahead and impound any uncertified motorbikes carrying on courier services in the state, especially those areas where motorbikes are restricted in the state.
