ADETOKUNBO Kayode, the president, the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ACCI, has commended Anambra State for clearly demonstrating that doing business in Nigeria is good.
Kayode, who was represented by Johnson Anene, his vice-president, noted: “Anambra has set the pace in several areas including the famous Nnewi spare parts business, economic empowerment and poverty alleviation.’’
The theme of the fair is: “Enhancing Small And Medium Enterprises, SMEs, In Agro-business Through Innovative Technology”.
Christian Madubuko, the Anambra State commissioner for Trade and Commerce, was represented by Daniel Chibueze Okoli, the permanent secretary in the ministry, on the occasion.
The commissioner said that the theme was in line with what Obiano had been doing to promote agricultural value chain and food security in the state and Nigeria as a whole.
He, however, stressed that Anambra remained the commercial nerve centre and the industrial hub of the nation.
Madubuko, then, extolled the government for its effort at promoting the state in the area of investment opportunities in Industry, Trade and Commerce through participation in the Abuja fair and other trade fairs.
The 13th Abuja International Trade Fair was held from Sept. 26 to Oct. 7 at Lugbe, Abuja International Trade Fair Complex.
The fair offered unrivalled opportunities for business development as well as a platform for Ndi Anambra to showcase their latest innovations in products and services.
It attracted government functionaries, industrialists and the business community in Anambra as represented by various sectors of the Organised Private Sector (OPS).
A wide range of products displayed in Anambra Pavilion during the Fair include mineral deposits – clay and Kaolin, Pyrite, Natural gas/Petroleum, Sandstones (S¹S²), Iron stone, Reignite and Bentonite.
Others are Anambra Rice; special breed of orange fleshed sweet potatoes and bitter leaf washing machines from young innovators in Anambra.
There were also range of vehicles from Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing Company; Cables and wires from Cutix PLC and pyrolysis.
The rest are special designed wears (western and native collections); authentic natural products (body and hair creams) and art gallery (drawings, paintings).
The skills acquisition college also displayed hats, turbans, souvenirs, beads and soaps.
