Anambra HOS receives Leadership Award

HARRY Udu, Anambra State Head of Service, HOS, has been presented with an award of “Commander of Civil Service and Good Public Administration’’.

The award was presented to him by Nigerian Mass Media Obey Company, Publishers of Free News Magazine in his Office at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka.

Presenting the award, Obinna Mbonu, chairman of the Editorial Board, explained that the essence of the award was to recognise the strong leadership efforts of the HOS.

“Effective and efficient administration of the civil service of the state is reason the state civil service remains the top in the federation,’’ he said.

Mbonu added the successes Anambra recorded in political governance through the administration of Governor Willie Obiano to a large extent, hinged on the smooth piloting of the service by the HOS.

Receiving the award, HOS thanked the editorial board and expressed his unreserved gratitude to the governor for granting him the opportunity to serve the state.

“I thank our governor, Gov. Willie Obiano for giving me the opportunity to serve, while making my job easy which is the reason I am being recognised and honoured this day.

“He is a governor who gives listening ears to all, especially the workers.

“He loves the civil service and has continued to deliver on all the promises he made and even the latest one, where he promised to be the first to implement the N30, 000 minimum wage,‘’ he said.

Adebayo Ojeyinka, director, Public Service Office, PSO, Office of the Head of Service,  thanked the team for selecting, Udu, whom he said, had remained diligent and committed to the service.

Ojeyinka, then, assured the organisation that Udu was the best choice among his contemporaries for the award.

Dignitaries present at the event include Caroline Njaka, permanent secretary, Establishment and Management Services, EPMS, Office of the Head of Service,  Nwando Obiano, director of Training and Pamela Ikena, HOD Establishment, HOS.
