Anambra Information officers begin intensive ICT training

SOME information officers from the Ministry of Information and Communication Strategy on March 5, started training in Information and Communication Technology, ICT.
The training would last for two months and would hold on Mondays and Tuesdays at the ministry’s headquarters, Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.
Obiageliaku Umeadi, the acting director of Information in the ministry in a speech to inaugurate the training, said the essence of initiating the training was to make staff of Information ICT-compliant.
“The knowledge of ICT is important in order to make information officers to work expertly in news gathering and processing.
“Take this exercise seriously. Do no not let the opportunity to slip off your hands.
“Indeed, you are opportune to be the first batch to benefit from this initiative,’’ she told the participants.
She, however, lauded Tony Nnacheta, the commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, who initiated the training exercise.
Umeadi also hailed Ben Umerah, the permanent secretary, for his support in getting the training off-ground.
She, then, commended the facilitators led by Castro Ideke, personal assistant to the commissioner as well as Kingsley Ukpai and Praise Ugwu, two Youth Corps members.
The corps members are undergoing the primary assignment in the ministry.
Tony Nezianya, the special assistant to the governor on Media told the participants to quickly learn the skills, in order to be able to join the “information superhighway’’.
“This is the right way to go, just like your counterparts in Lagos State.’’
