Anambra: Ogbaru incident has emboldened our security drive

ANAMBRA State Government said that heinous act committed in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state on May 16 has emboldened its security drive.

The government said the incident involved five male officials of the USA consulate and four armed Mobile Policemen visiting from Lagos on a mission to assess the impact of erosion in Anambra, who were ambushed and killed.

The government stand is contained in a press statement by Mr Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to Gov. Charles Soludo and sent to the News Agency of (NAN) in Awka on Thursday.

The government described the evil act as a clog in a wheel of progress in the state, assuring that the culprits would be found and brought to justice. 

The government has called on the public with useful information that would identify or lead to the whereabouts of the criminals to offer same to the command.

The government urged the public to send any useful information on the incident to secured security phone numbers or to any of the security agencies, promising that any credible informant will be handsomely financially rewarded although investigations are still underway.

The government assured Anambra residents and visitors of its continued commitment to law and order. (NAN)
