THE Onitsha Traders Consultative Forum, OTCF, has called on the major political parties to ensure that they pick their candidates from Anambra North Senatorial District for the sake of equity and fairness.
Vin Obi, All Progressives Congress, APC, and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chairman of OCTF, and former chairman of Onitsha Main Market Amalgamated Traders Union, OMMATU, in an interview said “it is also imperative that all the political parties after zoning their candidate to Anambra North and their candidates contesting in the election should agree on a one term of four years in office to ensure that the governorship of the state moves to another zone, especially, Anambra South Senatorial District.”
According OCTF chairman, “In the event where the contesting parties, particularly APC, did not zone the emergence of their candidates from Anambra North Senatorial District, they should ensure that their parties’ primaries were conducted freely and fairly to the satisfaction of all the contestants.
OTCF will carry out a massive campaign to the traders to support and vote only the candidate that emerge through free fair and credible primaries, we are not mincing words about this, the to avoid post election litigations that has drawn the state backward and the traders being the most hard hit.” – Vanguard
