THE Managing Director of Operations for Clean and Healthy Anambra (OCHA Brigade), Mr Celestine Anere, has vowed to eradicate fake drink production across all Anambra markets.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Sunday, Anere assured residents that individuals involved in producing fake drinks would face arrest and prosecution.

He said seven suspects were arrested during a recent raid on fake manufacturing facilities in Nkpor, Idemili North LGA, and Onitsha, where hundreds of fake wines and other drinks were discovered.

Anere noted that the state government, in collaboration with the Federal Government’s Presidential Task Force against economic sabotage and oil vandalism, would stop at nothing to ensure justice is served.

He revealed that some individuals involved in the fake beverages trade confessed to supplying over 1,000 cartons of fake products weekly, highlighting the severity of the issue.

Anere further said that the government would pursue cases to a logical conclusion, taking action to prevent further harm and ensure good governance.(NAN
