Anambra State to host Bi-ennial Police Games

THE Anambra State government has accepted to host the 2018 Nigeria Police Games. Governor Willie Obiano stated this when AIG Sani Mohammed, chairman, Nigeria Police Games’ Planning Committee, visited him at Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, to plead for the hosting of the event.
The Police Games is bi-ennial event through which sporting talents in the force were usually identified.
He expressed appreciation to the police for their contributions in making the state safe for Anambra people.
Earlier, Mohammed, a commander, Police Academy, Kano, noted that he was in the state to inform the governor about the upcoming games.
He commended Governor Obiano for the solid achievements in the state describing him as “courageous and outstanding leader, who has been providing democracy dividends to his people’’.
“The Governor has promised to be part of the games and urged the committee to furnish him with the schedule of the events,’’ Mohammed added.
Chris Owolabi, deputy commissioner of Police in charge of Administration in Anambra, noted that he was happy over the support offered by Anambra Government toward ensuring the success of the Games.
