ANAMBRA State website, www.anambrastate.gov.ng will soon be upgraded for revenue collection, according to C Don Adinuba, commissioner for information and public enlightenment.
“This will be effected as soon as it has been made secure for that purpose.’’ Adinuba said during an interactive session with the Anambra State Website consultant, Caroline Akhuetie and other stakeholders at the Trig Point Hotel, Nibo.
“The site can be used for diverse government transactions, which will help it to raise its revenue profile,’’ he said.
Adinuba noted that the website could also be used to showcase and advertise the achievements of the state government such as Anambra rice.
Mike Obiajulu Meze, Branding and Marketing Communication consultant, observed that some essential communication tools like the government crest on the website were not properly positioned.
He urged that such tools should be represented in an appropriate place.
He also criticized the current colours used on the site and urged that the approved colours of the state – 70 per cent yellow and 30 per cent black – be deployed.
Chike Maduekwe, chairman, Physical Planning Board, and the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, website manager, Steve Nwainokpor observed that ministries, parastatal and agencies in the state could have their websites linked to the main Anambra site.
Akhuetie, site manager, promised to effect the updates in close cooperation with the ministry of information and public enlightenment.
She, however, noted that for the growth and success of the website, all ministries, parastatal and agencies need to cooperate to provide the information needed to populate the site.
