Angola to create aviation accident investigation agency – official
Foreign
ANGOLA has approved a draft law, aimed at creating an agency responsible for carrying out investigations on accidents and incidents in the transport sector, authorities announced on Monday.
The draft law approved by the Angolan parliament was for the amendment to the country’s Civil Aviation Law.
“This is aimed at making up for some deficiencies and make updates in compliance with the International Civil Aviation Organisation,’’ said Ricardo de Abreu, the country’s transport minister.
“The document was established that the executive should create an entity that is responsible for carrying out investigations on accidents and incidents in the transport sector, which includes the activity of civil aviation.’’
The minister further said that the agency, to be called the National Public Institute for Investigation and Prevention of Accidents and Incidents of Angola, would be created by Presidential Decree. (Xinhua/NAN)
