Angolan president to visit China

PRESIDENT of the Republic of Angola, Joao Lourenco, will pay a state visit to China from March 14 to 17 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Hua Chunying, the foreign ministry spokesperson announced this on Tuesday.
Chunying noted that during the visit, Jinping would hold a welcome ceremony and banquet for Lourenco.The two heads of state wouof hold discussions and jointly attend a signing ceremony of cooperation documents, another foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin reported at a regular news briefing.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, Chairman of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee, will meet with President Lourenco respectively.
The Angolan president will also visit Shandong Province, Wang said.
It was noted that both countries celebrated the 40th anniversary of their diplomatic ties in 2023.

Wang said China expects this visit to inject new impetus into the all-round and in-depth development of bilateral relations and push for new progress in their friendly cooperation.
