Anniversary: Deputy Speaker glorifies God, constituents

DANDAURA Nehemiah, the Deputy Speaker, Nasarawa House of Assembly, on Friday organised a prayer session to glorify God for guiding him through the last one year.

Nehemiah (APC-Akwanga North) said in Akwanga that God had protected and was faithful to him during his one year in office.

“I organise this prayer in order to appreciate God for my successful one year in office, and for his protection over my life.

“I use to be sick during the days of my struggle, but when I took over as member and Deputy Speaker of the House, God has preserved and sustain my life,” he said.

Nehemiah also thanked God for protecting the lives of other 22 members of the state House of Assembly during the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that all members of the Assembly had been tested, and were negative.

Besides, the lawmaker appreciated his constituents for their support and prayers within the prriod under review and socited for sustained efforts at developing the area.

Nehemiah assured the people of effective representation in the state legislature that would improve their lives and the state at large.

He also urged stakeholders of Madaland and other well-meaning people of his constituency to continue to support him with constructive advice to enable him deliver on his mandate.

The deputy speaker also urged the people to continue to support government policies and programmes in order to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

Mr Samuel Tsebe, a PDP member from Akwanga South, and  Mr Kwanta Yakubu, Special Adviser to Gov. Abdullahi Sule on Youths, congratulated the deputy speaket on his first anniversary.

Mr Samuel Meshi, the Chairman of Akwanga Local Government Council, also congratulated Nehemiah on the successful completion of his one year in office.

They urged him to remain focused in attracting more dividends of democracy to sustain the unity and development of the area.

They also reminded him to rededicate himself to the empowerment of the people of Madaland and the development of the entire state.

Earlier, Rev. Amin Zaigi, the Clergy in charge of Kings Summit, Akwanga, in his admonition urged Christians and other faithful to always thank God, no matter their circumstances in life.

Zaigi said that it was good for Christians to always thank God at all times in order to get more of God’s blessings and favour.

He congratulated the deputy speaker on the successful completion of one year in office, admonishing him to always have the fear of God in his dealings.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the prayer session was attended by Sen. Philip Gyunka, other political office holders, traditional rulers, and religious leaders, among other well-wishers. (NAN)
