APC chieftain supports Akeredolu’s girl-child empowerment initiative

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mrs. Omowumi Olatunji-Ohwovoriole has commended Mrs. Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu’s initiative to improve the well-being of the girl-child.
Olatunji-Ohwovoriole, who is the Chairman of the Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Kaura-Namoda, Zamfara, gave the commendation on Monday when she formally supported the hashtag; “IChooseTo SupportThe GirlChild” initiative in Akure.
BEMORE Summer Boot camp is one of the initiatives of Mrs. Anyanwu-Akeredolu, conceptualized in 2017 for girl empowerment and it has over the years trained more than 1,500 girls across the state.
She described the initiative of the governor’s wife as life-changing, saying that it had lifted many girls from the pangs of poverty.
Olatunji-Ohwovoriole, who said she strongly believed in the cause, affirmed her readiness to continue to support the initiative.
The governing council chairman commended the First Lady for conceptualizing the initiative to impact lives positively most especially in the areas of ICT, renewable solar energy, and in other life skills.
“I stand with BEMORE and with Arabirin Akeredolu.
“She is doing very well in the area of girl child education and many girls have already benefited from it.
“Arabinrin Akeredolu, we celebrate you,” she added. (NAN)
