SHUAIBU Yamusa, factional chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Adamawa State, is dead. Yamusa died in Kano, Kano State, on Sunday, January 17, after a protracted illness.

The former party stalwart was said to be suffering from diabetes and heart problems. He was buried Monday, January 18, according to the Islamic injunction in Numan, Adamawa State.

Babachir David Lawal, secretary to the federal government, led a delegation from the national party comprising a national party official, all the three senators representing the state and all the factional leaders of the party in the state, to Numan the home base of the late Yamusa.

Mai Malla, national secretary of the APC, described the dead of Yamusa as a big lost in the entire country, describing him as somebody with a good heart, kind, hard working and intelligent.

Malla, therefore, enjoined factional groups in the party in the state to come together and bury the hatchet.

On her own part, Binta Marsi Garba, senator representing Adamawa Northern Senatorial zone, Adamawa State, described the late Yamusa as a team player and a perfect gentleman. Garba lamented that his dead came when he was trying to help the state in carrying out its change programme.

Yamusa passed on when the party in the state is facing a serious internal disagreement which divided the party into two.

The leadership of the party under the late Yamusa was believed to hold the structure of former Governor Murtala Nyako. Governor Bindow Umaru Jibrilla had sacked Yamusa on suspicion that Nyako was going to take over the party structure in the state.

The sharp disagreement was shown today as there was a mild drama between the two faction in Numan at the home of the late Chairman, the entourage of the Governor of the state and the entourage of SGF could not meet to exchange plesentaries as party demand.
