The All Progressives Congress (APC) in South Africa has constituted an Interim Executive Committee for the chapter following the demise of its former Chairman, Dr Taiye Abe, who died in June.
APC South Africa, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), Chief Chucks Okoye, said that the interim committee was constituted during the chapter’s National Stakeholders/BOT zoom meeting held on Thursday.
He said that the committee, chaired by Mr Tosin Adeyinka, was mandated to conduct the chapter’s general election within six months and organise APC-SA National Convention in March 2021.
The BOT chairman said that Thursday’s zoom meeting, which was attended by 51 stakeholders across South Africa, was the chapter’s second online gathering since the demise of Dr Abe in June.
Okoye charged the interim committee to work toward the success of the chapter’s national convention next year as well as the progress and unity of the APC in South Africa.
Among other members of the interim committee were Ahmed Segun Badmus (Vice Chairman) and Uchenna Obioha (Publicity Secretary). (NAN)
