APC’s Okpebholo leads as INEC announces results from 16 LGAs

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, is leading in the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday.

According to the results from 16 LGAs announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday, Okpebholo secured 244,549 votes, while Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, garnered 195,954 votes.

Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party, LP, got a total of 13,348 votes.

Meanwhile, INEC has announced a 3-hour recess to await results from the final two local governments.

So far, results from 16 LGAs have been presented at the commission’s headquarters in Benin City.

Collation is set to resume at 5 p.m.
