A member representing Orumba North Constituency at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Emeka Aforka, has declared that the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, will emerge victorious in the Nov. 6 Anambra Governorship election.

This is irrespective of who he termed `political distractions’.

Aforka, who said this while addressing journalists in Awka, said all the activities of political gladiators were to distract the APGA faithful and that the authentic candidate for the party remained Prof Chukwuma Soludo.

“History will repeat itself in Anambra state. The history of winning election in Anambra state via 21/21 recorded in the last election of Gov. Willie Obiano. Overwhelming victory will repeat itself on Nov. 6, 2021.

“APGA as a political party is a party to be with. We are fully on ground irrespective of various scheming in the party. Just like in every family, you always have one or two issues.

“So you can’t rule it out, there is no issue in any family. But in the case of APGA, we are taking care of issues and we are going to make it. APGA will take over Anambra State again.

“APGA has made a unanimous decision. We have made our choice. APGA as a political party has made its choice. In fact our choice is the best. The right candidate for APGA in the person of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo is our choice as a family.

“We are pleading with the aggrieved members to have a rethink. We are one family and the family has strongly decided whom to support. Our choice stands.

“I don’t know why somebody should go to court to waste his resources. If you use that money to support the party to win the election, it will have been better and the party must have gone far.’’

Aforka adds: “Mind you everybody cannot be a governor of Anambra state. Everybody is interested to become a governor, I am interested to become, you are interested to become a governor, but everybody must not be there. It must be one at a time.

“So for now it is the time of Soludo. I advised those aggrieved members to queue behind Soludo and support the party.”

On rumours that a certain party is determined to take over Anambra, Mr Aforka described it as a joke and would not hold any water.

According to him, Anambra has a strong political system. So it is not a story that will make APGA lose sleep.

“I see it as an empty threat. It doesn’t work like that in Anambra State.  It is not like a banana state, where everybody can come in and do whatever they want and go scot-free. No, it is not like that.

“I believe our vote counts. Anybody pinning hopes on `federal might’ aka `rigging’ is doing what I call day dreaming, because it will never work.  So we are not losing sleep.

“We are busy consolidating at our grassroots level, making sure that our party and people are mobilized,’’ he said
