Three days to the expiration of his tenure in office, the Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has appointed secretaries for the Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Authorities in the state.
The governor made known the new appointments through a statement signed by Mr Kunle Oyatomi, which was broadcast on the state-owned radio station in Osogbo, on Friday evening.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, will terminate with the tenure of the current local government chairmen and councillors, who were elected in January this year.
The 62 secretaries will serve in the 30 Local Government Areas, and 32 Local Council Development Authorities.
However, secretaries were not appointed for the four Area Councils and two Administrative Offices in the state.
The statement partly read, “The Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has appointed Secretaries for all the local government areas and local council development areas as he winds down his administration on November 27th.”
