GOV. Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has donated N10 million to the state’s chapter of the Nigerian Legion ahead of the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The governor made the donation during the Emblem Appeal Lunch on Monday in Jos.

Mutfwang, who called for more support to the legions and families of fallen heroes, said that Nigeria’s cooperate existence is dependant on their huge sacrifices.

“Some of my uncles retired after meritorious service in the army, today they have become liabilities because as a nation we didn’t plan for them.

“We cannot shy away from our responsibilities; these are our fathers, our uncles and we cannot continue to pretend that what they are passing through does not matter to us.

“And that is why those of you who are serving should take more interest in preparing for retirement because life after retirement must not become a liability.

“The only way we can help them is to do our best and support them, especially those of them who are still alive,”Mutfwang called.

Earlier, Col. Sati Yilwak (Rtd), Chairman of the legion in the state, who decried the plight of its members, urged members of the public to support them.

He called on Mutfwang to support them every ramifications, adding that such move enable them go about their activities with ease.

“I want to appeal to our dear governor to do everything to alleviate the sufferings of our members, particularly the indigent ones.

” We are also appealing to individuals and groups to support families of the fallen heroes” he appealed.(NAN)
