Army Colonel Abducted By Gunmen

AN Army colonel serving with Nigeria Army School of Infantry, Jaji, Kaduna State, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen, on Saturday, March 26.
According to a statement issued in Kaduna by Usman Abdul, deputy director, Army Public Relations, on Sunday, March 27, Samaila Inusa, a serving colonel was abducted at about 7:30 pm on Saturday, March 26 around Kamazo near NNPC junction, Kaduna.
“The abductors dropped off his wife and left with him in his car and headed towards Abuja. They drove in a Mercedes Benz GK black colour with registration number Abuja, KUJ 154 TZ,” the statement said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction of the senior military officer or placed a ransom on him as of the time of filing this report.
The military, therefore, appealed to members of the public for “useful information or assistance” that would help in tracking the abductors.

This was coming barely a week after three clerics were abducted along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway.
Emmanuel Dziggau, a reverend and president of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria, in company of Iliya Anto, a reverend his vice-president and one Yakubu Zarma, also a reverend, were abducted by gunmen along the Kaduna – Abuja Express Way on Monday.
The abductors, numbering six, were masked and armed with AK47 rifles and demanded for a N100m ransom. The ransom was later reduced to N80m.
