AFTER 20 years as manager of Arsenal football club of England, Arsene Wenger may be spending his final season at the Emirates Stadium. Ivan Gazidis, Arsenal chief executive, dropped the hint the club could be planning for life after Wenger.

The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of the season and Wenger, who celebrated his 20th anniversary this month, has made it clear that he would not be rushed into deciding his future.

But Gazidis said: “Arsenal is not Arsene Wenger. They’re not one in the same thing.” Gazidis insisted the north Londoners remain relaxed about Wenger’s future and are in no hurry.

The Gunners are unbeaten since the opening day of the season with seven wins from their nine subsequent games. They currently sit third in the table, two points off leaders Manchester City.

Wenger has been linked with the England job after Sam Allardyce was axed last month.
