ASATU admonishes on harmonious relationship

MEMBERS of Anambra State Association of Town Union, ASATU, have been advised to maintain healthy relationship with traditional rulers of their communities.

This is to assist them to eschew `unnecessary discrepancies, and achieve meaningful growth’.

Willie Obiano admonished them during their monthly General Meeting, at the union’s office, Government House, Awka.

Members of the association comprised president-generals of the 179 communities in Anambra State.

Obiano described them as very important institutions in determining the progress of their communities, stressing that they play vital roles in piloting the administrative affairs of their various communities.

Obiano urged them to continue respecting traditional institutions and create peaceful synergy with the traditional rulers for peace of their areas.

The Chairman Obiano Re-election Committee, Chief Victor Umeh said that the present administration had spent not less than N7 billion in the ongoing – N20 million Community Choose Your Project Initiative.

While urging them to support in fighting for Igbo agenda, Umeh pointed out that Anambra Nov. 18 election would determine the future of the South East over the next four years.

The National President ASATU, Alex Onukwue observed that Obiano’s style of governance had introduced new dimensions in politics, whereby the people at the grassroots felt the impact of governance.

Onukwue assured the governor of their support and unanimous decision to deliver him in order to consolidate on the signature projects.
