THE Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has urged the Chairman of Doma Local Government Area of the state, Mr Ahmed Usman and his legislative arm, to maintain good working relationship.

Alhaji Mohammed Alkali, the chairman of the committee, made the call in Lafia on Tuesday.

The chairman said that there were allegations that some appointments in the council were without approval from the legislative arm, among other emerging issues.

He said that the meeting with the councillors was a prerequisite to hearing their own side of the story before the follow-up meeting with the chairman.

Alkali said that they had decided to wade into the issue as no development would take place without peaceful co-existence among the two arms of government of the area.

The lawmaker said that speedy development would not be achieved in the council if the two arms of government in the area were in loggerheads.

The assemblyman also called on the two arms of government in Doma and other local government areas in the state to respect the right of each other.(NAN)
