THE Anambra State House Committee on Works says it is impressed at the level of work done so far on the dual carriage road leading to the Anambra International Cargo Airport, Umueri.
The lawmakers, who were on oversight functions, were led by Timothy Ifedioranma, Chairman of the Committee.
In an interview at the end of the inspection tour, Ifedioranma said that the project was progressing well.
“We are here to inspect to ensure that the contractor is following the job specification to the letter.
“With what we have seen, the paces, quality and level of works are commendable.
“The contractor has promised us that the road will last for about 30 years before any form of maintenance.
“So, we are satisfied at the level of work so far. We hope they will deliver as scheduled,’’ Ifedioranma said.
The Coordinating Contractor handling the project,Jonny Nasa, re-assured in an interview that the project would be delivered as scheduled by March 2021.
“With the support of the state government, we are promising to deliver this road by March 2021. We are working very hard to beat that deadline,’’ he stressed.
