Association distributes food items to 1,200 orphans in Kebbi

THE Jamaatu Izalatul Bid’a Wa ikamatul Sunnah (JIBWIS) in Kebbi has distributed food items worth N2 million to 1,200 orphans in Gwandu Local Government Area of the state.

Imam Muhammad Yabani, the Chairman of the Committee for food distribution, made this known in Gwandu on Tuesday while sharing the food items to the orphans.

According to him, the items distributed included 56 bags of parboiled rice, 55 bags of millet and two bags of maize, among others.

Yabani said the gesture was aimed at bringing succour to the lives of the orphans.

He prayed Allah to reward those who contributed to the success of the event.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the orphans also received clothes as well as cash from the committee.

Earlier, Malam Siddiku Sani, the JIBWIS Chairman of Gwandu Local Government Area, commended the committee for impacting the lives of the orphans in the area positively.

He also called on well-to- do individuals and philanthropists to use their wealth to improve the lives of the orphans and vulnerable. (NAN)
