MEMBER representing Isoko North/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Jonathan Ukodhiko has described former Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan as a symbol of peace, unity and progress as he turns 69years old.
In a statement on Sunday in Abuja, Hon. Ukodhiko appraised the former Delta Governor as a “visionary and foremost elder-statesman, an accommodating political leader who is endowed with purposeful leadership.”
The Isoko federal lawmaker said, “Your excellency, You are undoubtedly a man of elevated virtues with an undimmed passion of service to the people. You possesses in abundance the qualities of vision, tenacity, faith and of course, intrepidity.
Hon. Ukodhiko stated that, “As the 3rd democratically elected Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015, Your Excellency, you displayed unparalleled bravery, courage and vision.
“My leader, your voice has become a significant voice of reason and vision not only in Delta State but in Nigeria. Your vision and foresight were at play as Governor when you worked hard to recreate our state economy that would thrive without crude oil.
“You are a noted political leader of peace and we appreciate your deep involvement and efforts towards the attainment of peace we enjoy in the State particularly when you held sway as SSG, Governor, and in your capacity as a leader in the State.”
Ukodhiko who is the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology lauded efforts of the former Governor was one of the founding fathers of the PDP in Delta State since its inception in 1998, saying “he has remained a key leader of the party.
“At 69, Your excellency, You are a unifying symbol of peace, progress, and unity of our state, Delta, and our party, the PDP, and we appreciate your unwavering support and leading role you played during the Delta State PDP campaigns at an obviously critical time”
Ukodhiko wrote; “On behalf of my family and the people of Isoko Federal Constituency, it is a special pleasure and privilege to celebrate a dependable leader, detribalized Deltan, and prominent statesman of Nigeria, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON on his 69th birthday.
“Your excellency, you are stickler for fairness, equality, oneness, and a consummate leader who as Governor, you saw holistically Delta as one entity, and you fairly ensured development of infrastructures in all parts of the State.
“Your strides in peace building, education and scholarship schemes, health and free maternal healthcare programmes, transportation, water, skills acquisition programmes and microcredit schemes in all LGAs are quite remarkable.
“The many landmark-projects which you conceptualised and brought to realities including the Asaba Airport, the new Government House, the flyovers in Asaba and in Warri, amongst others define your eight years as a Governor who performed well and finished strongly.” Ukodhiko added
