Adesina is chairing the conference which will address, among other topics, current and future challenges to food safety globally, as well as the African leaders’ commitment to scale up food safety in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Conference speakers are scheduled to include Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the president of Egypt and incoming African Union chairman; Paul Kagame the president of Rwanda and outgoing African Union chairman; Abiy Ahmed, the prime minister of Ethiopia; Moussa Faki Mahamat, the African Union Commission chairperson; Jose Graziano da Silva the FAO director-general, and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO director-general.
