Austria’s National Railway Company OeBB stopped all of its trains for two hours on Monday as Railway Workers held a warning strike amid difficult wage negotiations.
The strike affected 70 long-distance connections and 600 commuter trains between 12 and 2 pm (1100-1300 GMT), a spokesperson of the state-owned OeBB said.
The private Westbahn rail operator was forced to halt its trains also, because it depended on OeBB’s infrastructure.
“The negotiations have not failed yet. They continue despite the strike,’’ a spokesperson of the Vida trade union said.
