Thirteen Nigerian Airports Fitted with Lighting Aids

THIRTEEN airports across the country are being fitted with airfield lighting for improved productivity and enhanced operations. Osita Chidoka, minister of Aviation, disclosed this when he inaugurated the Common User Passenger Processing System, CUPPS, at the domestic terminal II of the Muratala Mohammed Airport on Thursday, May 7.

Chidoka used the occasion to promote the concept of one aviation, stating that “safety security and comfort must be above board.” According to the minister, the concept of Measurement, Monitoring and Improvement, MMI, had become inevitable if the country’s aviation industry must move forward.

The Common User Passenger Processing System, CUPPS, installed by Bicourtney Aviation Services operators of the Murtala Muahammed Airport Domestic Terminal II is the first of its kind in the country.

Earlier, Wale Babalakin, chairman of Bicourteny Aviation Services Limited, commended government for its support.

The minister also commissioned the self check-in Kiosk, screening point and check in counters at the terminal.

The occasion was attended by aviation stakeholders and service providers.
