KELLY Rowland, a United States music star, on Saturday night, February 15, performed alongside some Nigerian musicians at the second edition of “Love Like A Movie” Valentine Concert in Lagos. The concert, organised by Darey Art-Alade, took place at the Ocean View Grounds of the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The Nigerian artistes who featured at the show include Timi Dakolo, Waje, Tiwa Savage, Zaina, Mo Eazy, Eva, Abigail, Muna and Lamborghinny.

In line with the title and the season, the show was centred on love, kicked off with a crane dropping a singing Art-Alade on the stage to the excitement of the audience who gave him applauds. He sang a number of his popular tunes and some evergreen love ballads from different artistes worldwide.

Rowland dropped tunes from her own personal repertoire and from a collection recorded while a member of the girl group, Destiny’s Child, which also had Beyonce and Michelle Williams.

The crane remained a major part of the show as some of the dancers performed their routines while hanging on it or dangling from it.

A minor hiccup occurred during Kelly Rowland’s performance as some technical hitches with the sound led to her walking off the stage. She later returned to conclude her performance after Art-Alade tendered an apology.

Rowland’s fellow US music star, Brandy, was in the audience. She looked happy throughout the show and danced to some of the tunes. Brandy was in the country for another Valentine’s weekend show where she would perform with UB-40.

Art-Alade said after the show that he was glad to host the second edition of the show successfully.

He said that music was one of the biggest exports from Nigeria at the moment, and that having such a show in Nigeria was a sign of advancement. “We have come a long way in our art; we are glad to take it to the world or bring the world to see it here,” he said.

Jalade-Ekeinde’s Anger Against Bloggers

ON February 7, Meraiah, daughter of Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, a Nollywood queen, clocked 14 years old. A few days later, some bloggers paraded different photos of the young girl with different captions like ‘sexy’, ‘lovely’, ‘adorable’, with lots of comments after the pictures went viral.

But the multiple award winning actress is not amused by what the bloggers has done to her innocent daughter and has issued a very stern warning to them and has vowed to take up arms with them if any of such repeats itself.

Here is what Omo Sexy wrote on her Facebook page: “Thank you to everyone who wished Meraiah a happy birthday. However, going to a 14-year-old’s ‘private’ online accounts to post her pictures for public viewing is totally Inappropriate.

“Her father and I are horrified as a parent and a guardian that a minor’s picture can be paraded online as ‘hot’, ‘sexy’ etc… We know the bloggers probably meant no harm but in a world full of pedophiles and sickos every adult with morales should know where to draw the line.

“This was started by a lady called Kemi filani , she has since apologized and taken down content but her reckless blog post lives on.

“I will not hesitate henceforth to use everything within my power to bring anyone to justice who does this with any of my under aged kids after ‘this’ first time episode! Any child under 18 should be protected by us all and if their parents/guardian hasn’t given you the okay to publish information especially “private” of their child, doing so, is against the law. I hope you all understand thanks. Omotola.”
