A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, has said he will pursue Igbo agenda to the core if voted to power in next year’s election.
He said he remained the best presidential choice for the South-East in every ramification.
He stated this on Wednesday at the PDP Secretariat, Awka, Anambra State, while declaring his intention to run for the office of the president to members of the party in the state.
He said during his reign as the governor of Sokoto State, he gave appointments to Ndigbo and supported Igbo businessmen.
While asking the PDP get organised, the former Sokoto helmsman expressed optimism that the party would win the 2019 presidential poll.
He pledged to support any presidential aspirant in the party that would win the party’s primary election for the 2019 general elections in a free and fair exercise.
He said, “I am a democrat and ready to support any aspirant who emerges as the party’s flag-bearer in order to move the country forward.
“I am presenting two books on my eight years of stewardship as governor and what I will do as president and my ideas on restructuring.
“I came into politics in 1976. I didn’t come into politics to make money but to serve and I remain the best choice for the south-east zone, due to my favourable disposition to its people.
“I assisted several Igbo businessmen to become billionaires and ensured their safety during my tenure as governor of Sokoto State.
