GOV. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State on Saturday assured residents of Dutsin Fakara in Arewa Local Government Area of provision of portable water.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor, who was on his way to Bachaka town in the same local government, sighted a group of women trying to fetch water from a local well which attracted his attention.

After making inquiries about the water problem from the women, he promised to provide a borehole to supply portable drinking to the community.

According to him, this is part of his administration’s continuous effort to provide basic social amenities to people of the state, particularly rural dwellers.

The residents expressed immense joy and appreciation to the governor for his concern and kind gesture.

At the border town of Bachaka, in Arewa local government, the governor inspected a collapsed building as a result of gully erosion in a Model Primary School.

Earlier, the governor had inspected an ongoing construction work of Gulma township roads in Argungu Local Government Area as well as the encroaching gully erosion at Dukku in Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area. (NAN)
