KEHINDE Bamigbetan, the Lagos State commissioner for Information and Strategy, has applauded Chief Press Secretaries to Chairmen of the 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State for their role in disseminating information at the grassroots.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by a delegation of the Press Secretaries to his Office at Alausa in Lagos on Monday, the Commissioner noted that their various expertise, particularly in social media handling, helped in the effective dissemination of information during the recent elections.

Bamigbetan stated that one of the most dangerous terrains to work is the social media platform because people have the impression that the Government is not doing anything and as such, it is important that the CPS fill the spaces by enlightening and showcasing the activities of the Government through effective social media management.

He advised the delegation to always publicise and disseminate the activities of their Local Government Chairmen particularly at the grassroots level and urged them to work in collaboration with the State government Information Officers attached to their various LGs/LCDAs to effectively project the good image of the State in their localities.

He, however, promised to work hand in hand with the Local Government Service Commission to enhance their capacities for effective and efficient service delivery.
