Bandits kill 7 NSCDC personnel, 5 others in Kaduna State

THE Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed that  seven of its personnel alongside five other persons were ambushed and killed at Kuriga mining site, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The NSCDC Director of Public Relations, Mr Olusola Odumosu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja that the five others were from a sister security agency and local vigilance group.

He said that one NSCDC personnel escaped the attack with injuries and is currently undergoing treatment.

Odumosu said that the attack which occurred on Monday at about 10 a.m, was unfortunate and a big loss to the Corps and family of the deceased 

He further said that the attackers carted away rifles of the slain operatives, adding that the remains of the officers and men had been deposited at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in Kaduna.

Meanwhile, the Corps has lost three other personnel from the National Headquarters in a car accident on Monday evening.

The accident victims were a female personnel and two male operatives.(NAN)
