THE Bauchi State House of Assembly has confirmed eight commissioner nominees forwarded by Gov. Bala Mohamed for screening.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Mohammed on Tuesday forwarded a list of eight nominees for appoitment as members of the State Executive Council, following a major cabinet reshuffle.
The House at plenary on Thursday screened and confirmed the nominees after legislative processes.
The nominees include Isa Babayo Tilde; Abdullahi Mohammed, Dr Bala Musa Lukshi, Usman Shehu, Dr Aliyu Gital, Prof. Ketkukah Saul, Adamu Gabarin and Dr Mohammed Rimin-Zayam.
The Speaker, Abubakar Sulaiman commended the legislators for thorough screening exercise, and described the nominees as credible and qualified.
According to Sulaiman, the confirmation of the nominees is a significant step toward strengthening the state executive council to enhance public service delivery.
He urged them to live up to the governor’s expectations, and help to propel the state to greater heights.
“We are confident that these nominees will bring their wealth of experience and expertise to bear in their respective roles.
“We expect them to work tirelessly to support the governor’s vision for the state and improve the lives of our people,” he said. (NAN)
