Bauchi Governor Sacks Commissioners, Appoints New SSG

Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State, on Thursday, July 20 dissolved the state executive council. He gave no official reason was given for the dissolution.
However, only Ladan Yusuf, a retired brigadier general, retained his position as the special adviser on Security to the governor.
In any case, Abubakar also appointed Mohammed Umar as the new secretary to the state government.
This was contained in a statement issued by Abubakar Al-Sadique, press secretary to the governor on Thursday, July 20 in Bauchi.
He said the governor had earlier in the day held an executive council meeting where he announced the dissolution of the cabinet and thanked the commissioners for their contributions to the development of the state.
Al-Sadique, who said the dissolution was with immediate effect, added that “all commissioners and special advisers are affected, except the Special Adviser on Security, Brig.Gen. Ladan Yusuf (retd.), who retains his position.”
He said that Nadada, who was born in Dambam, Bauchi State on December 31st, 1954, had served as the state’s SSG between 1999 and 2006.
