THE President, Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs Mariya Lagbaja, has urged the graduating students of NAOWA College Kurudu, Abuja to be determined, focused, and dedicated in  their academic endeavor.

Lagbaja gave the advice on Wednesday in Abuja, at the speech, graduation and prize given ceremony of the school for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.

She advised the graduating students to continue to exhibit the core values of diligence, integrity, respect and discipline, instilled in them while in the college.

She urged them to take the next phase of their educational journey very seriously because it was as important as the one they just graduated from.

”My dear graduands, as you embark on the next phase of your academic endeavor, I urge you to be determined, focused, and dedicated.

”Do not leave any stone unturned in your pursuit of success, as it doesn’t come easily.

”Use the knowledge you have gathered from your teachers, stretch your wings like eagles, and soar, shine like bright stars and be relevant to humanity.

”I have no doubt that the lessons you have learned in this college, and from your parents, will continue to guide you through your journey in life.

”Do not allow distractions to cut your dreams and aspirations short,” she admonished.

The NAOWA president commended the association, Director of the College, teachers and staff for their tireless efforts, dedication, and unwavering commitment to upholding the tenets of the association.

She said this had created an environment of academic excellence and holistic students’ development.

She explained that the presentation of the Chief of Army Staff prizes and awards to outstanding students and teachers was to honor the exceptional achievements of students and teachers, as well as serve as inspiration for others to strive for excellence.

The Director of the College, Maj. Suleiman Ali, said the students did not only excel in their academic pursuits, but had also demonstrated the ability to adapt to the ever changing dynamics of learning.

Ali said the event was a memorable one being the first time that students had written their senior school certificate examination at the college.

He commended the students for their endurance, courage and determination to succeed.

“We have prepared you for a balanced academic life, and I want you to know that graduation is not the end of tough academic journey, but the birth of a new one.

“I am confident that you will excel in whatever course you choose to pursue as you may soon experience the many adventures awaiting you.

“I am proud to mention that these young people graduating today are of good moral character and academic standing.

“Our gathering here today is a testament that the management of this great institution found them worthy in character and learning,” he said.
