Benue gets new Commissioner of Police

MR Emmanuel Adesina has assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police (CP) in Benue, with a commitment to fight crime headlong.

The spokesperson of the Police Command in Benue, SP Sewuese Anene, said in a statement in Makurdi on Wednesday that the CP promised to bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment.

He called for the cooperation of officers and men of the Command as well as support from members of the public with useful and timely information that would help in the fight against crime.

According the spokesperson, CP Adesina gave assurances that the Command under his leadership will ensure toprotect the lives and property of the people of Benue.

Mr Adesina, who was recently promoted to the rank of CP, joined the Nigeria Police Force as a cadet Assistant Superintendent in 1992.(NAN)
