BPHCF is jointly funded by states and the Federal Government to provide free medical services to the poor and vulnerable people in the country.

He listed the local government areas to include Damaturu, Potiskum, Bade, and Geidam.

The commissioner said 126 persons in each of the 178 wards of the state would be enrolled in the scheme.

Gana expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, noting those people registered were actually poor and vulnerable.

He said that a team of experts was engaged to visit the headquarters of each ward in the state to register the potential beneficiaries of the free healthcare services.

“The package covers antenatal care, prevention, screening for communicable diseases, treatment of minor diseases, curative and referral services,” the commissioner said.

NAN reports that the enrollment targets over 22,000 persons across the 17 local government areas of the state. (NAN)
