Joshua Nimyel Dogonyaro, retired soldier, 75, September 6. Born in Dakan-Kuka, Plateau State, he was educated at Boys’ Secondary School, Gindiri; Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna, 1964-1967; Nigeria Army School of Infantry, Jaji; Armoured Officers Course, USA; Armoured Car Troop Leaders’ Course, UK; Command and Staff College; Defence Resources Management Course, USA; National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Jos. He enlisted in the Nigerian Army, 1964, was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Nigerian Army Armoured Corps, 1967; officer commanding, 1 Recce Sqadron, NA 1967-1969; chief instructor and adjutant, Recce Training School, NA, 1970-1972; chief of army staff, 1993; member, National Institute; Commander, ECOWAS-Monitoring Group, ECOMOG, March-September, 1991; appointed chief of staff, 1993. He is the chairman of Sky Technology Limited.
