BENJAMIN Ezra Dikki, director-general of the Bureau of Public Enterprises, BPE, has implored the Muslim community to use the remaining period of the Ramadan fasting to pray fervently for Nigeria to overcome her security challenges.

Speaking when he held IFTAR (breaking of fast) with the Muslim staff of the Bureau in the evening on Monday, July 13, Dikki reminded them that Nigeria was going through trying times which required the prayers of all religions to overcome. He commended the Bureau’s Muslim faithful for their constant prayers which have lifted BPE to greater heights and urged them not to relent, noting that reforms and privatisation programme was  critical to the development of the Nigerian economy.

He specifically requested them to use the remaining period of the fasting to pray for wisdom for the country’s leaders to improve the economy so that Nigerians desirous on doing businesses could take advantage of the opportunities.

Dikki thanked the management team of the BPE for supporting him to take decisions that have impacted positively on the wellbeing of staff and promised to take staff welfare in the front burner.

Responding on behalf of the Muslim faithful, Aliyu Maigari, director, Industries and Services, commended the director general for his hard work and his commitment to the welfare of staff.

Maigari thanked the DG for hosting the Muslims on a Monday which is significant to Islam as it was the day the Holy Prophet Mohammed was born. He assured the DG that Muslims in the Bureau would continue to work to uphold the ideals of BPE for the overall good of the country.
