THE Federal High Court in Abuja today released Ibrahim Saminu Turaki, former governor of Jigawa State, from prison custody.

He has been remanded at the Kuje Prison, Abuja for more than a week after he has met his bail conditions.

Regina Okotie-Eboh, counsel to Turaki, had filed a motion requesting the court to remove the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, from the parties that will verify the authenticity of the documents contained in his bail conditions, complaining that   the EFCC has been delaying the verification processes even as the whole conditions have been fully complied with.

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba, presiding Judge, granted the motion in its entirety and ordered all parties to comply with immediate effect.

Realnews reports Dimgba had on July 18, upon the former governor’s re arraignment, agreed with most of the bail conditions earlier set by Justice Yusuf Haliru of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
