SENATOR Bala Mohammed, Bauchi state’s Governor,  has tested positive to Coronavirus.

Mukhtar Gidado,  senior special assistant on Media to the governor, made this known in a statement he issued on Tuesday, March 24.

Mohammed had gone into self isolation immediately he heard that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s son had tested positive to coronavirus.

Both of them had interacted while they were travelling to Abuja.

Ladan Salihu, the governor’s chief of staff tweeted on Monday, March 23: “Our Governor Bala Mohammed in self-isolation following contact with Atiku Abubakar’s Son. Yes. We were on the same flight from Lagos to Abuja.  They shook hands and exchanged pleasantries. The governor and the rest of us have taken tests. The results will be negative in sha Allah.”

Realnews reports that the tweet came in the wake of the disclosure by the former vice president on Sunday evening that his son has tested positive to COVID-19 and has been quarantined.

Realnews reports that the National Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 42 cases of Coronavirus from Abuja, Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, and Oyo states and one death.
