Bricklayer docked for allegedly failing to complete client’s work

A bricklayer, Babatunde Dairo, 46, was on Friday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, for allegedly failing to complete his client’s work.

Dairo, whose residential address was not provided is charged with obtaining money under false pretence and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Philip Amusan told the court that Dairo allegedly committed the offence on Sept. 28, 2022, at about 11 a.m, at Alesinloye area, Ibadan.

Amusan alleged that the defendant obtained N200, 000 for workmanship, from the client, Julius Ayodele to cast concrete slabs in his uncompleted building, but failed to do so.

Amusan said the offence contravened provisions  of sections 419 and 390(9) of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs O. A Akande, admitted the defendant bail in the sum of N40, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until April 24 for hearing. (NAN)
