Brig. Gen. Buba Marwa named HURIWA's Man of the Year 2023

HUMAN Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has announced Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa,
chairman and chief executive officer of the nation’s counter narcotics agency, National Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, as Nigeria’s civil rights community’s MAN OF THE YEAR 2023.
HURIWA said the phenomenal combat efforts by the NDLEA under the charismatic leadership of the retired Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa, a former military governor of Lagos state, has rekindled the renewed hope that indeed, the nation has the right kind of a resilient excellent leader to wage a determined fight against the greatest contemporary threat to World’s and Nigeria’s National security/peace which are hard drugs and illicit substances which HURIWA has described as the root cause of all organised and sophisticated crime in the World.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has been at the forefront of combating drug abuse, trafficking, and related crimes in Nigeria. In the year 2023, under the exemplary leadership of its head, Mohammed Buba Marwa, the NDLEA has achieved remarkable milestones, making a significant impact on society. Recognizing his exceptional dedication and outstanding performance, the Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has named Marwa as the Man of the Year for two consecutive years, 2023 and 2024.
