Bristow Helicopter Crashes

A Bristow Helicopter with registration number 5N- BDG-760540 crashed into the Lagoon in Oworonsoki area of the 3rd Mainland Bridge, in Lagos, Nigeria, killing four people.

Officials of the National Emergency Management Authority NEMA rescued about six people while they are still looking for the remaining two.

Fan Ndubuoke, general manager, Public Affairs of NCAA, also said the helicopter which was scheduled to land in Lagos, had 12 people on board.

Some of those who saw the helicopter  told Channels TV that it made a loud noise before crashing  into the Lagoon.

This crash is the latest air mishap in Nigeria after a long period without air crashes and this incident is likely to alert aviation officials of the need to be always emphasise safety.

The most recent crashes of helicopters were reported in the north east where troops have been battling against Boko Haram.
