Britain’s King Charles visit to Germany will go as planned

THE visit by Britain’s King Charles III to Germany next week would go ahead as planned, the office of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said on Friday.
He said this would happen in spite of the cancellation of the French leg of the trip.
Charles and his wife Camilla were expected in Germany from Wednesday to Friday on his first trip abroad as Britain’s new monarch.
A planned visit by Charles to France had been postponed due to unrest there in connection with unrest over unpopular pension reforms.
During the royal couple’s German visit, a state banquet is planned at Bellevue Palace, with further appointments in Berlin and the surrounding state of Brandenburg.
Charles is also due to give a speech in the Bundestag.
