President Muhammadu Buhari felicitates with Akintola Williams, a renowned accountant, who celebrates his 96th birthday as lectures making the occasion deals on public concerns

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buahri has commended Akintola Williams, a renowned doyen of the accounting profession in Nigeria, for his contributions to national progress and development, even at the grand old age of 96.

Buhari who gave the commendation on the occasion of this year’s Akintola Williams Distinguished Lecture Series, said the lecture series had enthroned integrity, professionalism and sound corporate governance in Nigeria.

He also commended the organisers of the annual lecture series on their choice of “Leadership Factors and Good Corporate Governance – Key to National Growth and Development” as the theme of this year’s lecture.

He said the topic was apt given the government preparedness to inaugurate a new Federal Executive Council “to drive the implementation of his administration’s agenda for national renaissance with the support and cooperation of all patriots and stakeholders in the well-being of Nigeria.”

President Buhari’s view was contained in a press statement signed by Femi Adesina, his spokesman, also seized this opportunity to congratulate Williams on his 96th birthday anniversary which was marked recently.

He prayed that God Almighty should continue to bless him and give him many more years of good health and worthy contributions to the development of his fatherland.
