Buhari Hands Over to Osinbajo

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, February 5, handed over the rein of government to Vice-President Yemi Osinbanjo as he began a five-day vacation, the Presidency said.

According to a statement issued by Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, President Buhari would be away from office from Friday, February 5 to Wednesday, February 10.

Thus, the statement said that Osinbajo would begin to carry out the duties of the president until end of Buhari’s vacation.

The statement said in part: “In compliance with section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution, President Buhari has dispatched a formal notice of his vacation to the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.”
