Buhari Retires Permanent Secretaries

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, November 10, ordered the retirement of some federal permanent secretaries.

It was gathered that no fewer than 17 of the permanent secretaries were affected in the exercise. is geared toward strengthening the Federal Civil Service.

Some of the permanent secretaries had held a closed-door meeting with President Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Tuesday ahead of the exercise.

According to sources, the president informed them about his decision during the meeting and said the exercise was geared towards strengthening the federal civil service.

It was leant that most of the affected included those who were senior to Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, acting head of service.
